EMILY NICHOLS HATCH (American, 1871-1959) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG SOCIALITE. Large oil on canvas 3/4 portrait of a young woman seated on a sofa in an evening dinner outfit holding her green pillbox hat. She has a modern hairdo for the time and there is a colorful cloth behind her head. Signed lower left and dated “1926”. Housed in a simple gilt wood frame. The canvas having a “Blanchet, Paris” canvas stamp. SIZE: 36-1/2″ x 28-3/4″. CONDITION: Canvas patch to reverse with corresponding inpainting, very good. 9-23060 (1,000-1,500)
