RARE FRENCH MYSTERY CLOCK. Circa 1850. The picture frame molded ebonized case with velvet front within a gilt molded surround, the frosted glass face with Arabic chapter ring mounted with filigree brass hands, above the rectangular brass plate with sweep second hand, winding aperture, and adjustment lever. The brass movement with oversize gears, having a silk thread suspension with spring-driven mechanism. Clock raised on suppressed ball gilded feet. SIZE: 16-1/4″ h. x 11-1/4″ w. CONDITION: Structurally appears to be in very good condition. Mechanism cleaned within the past 15 years. Velvet covered fascia with shrinkage cracks. Some missing brads. 9-94252 (700-1,000)
