R.J. HORNER CARVED MAHOGANY DESK. Last quarter 19th century. The rectangular top with molded edge above the conforming case fitted with five drawers carved with scrolling leaves, the handles carved lions’ masks, the opposing frieze with conforming simulated drawers, the pilasters elaborately carved chimera, the apron in the form of feathered wings, the whole raised on molded incurved legs terminating in boldly carved feet. SIZE: 30″ h. x 54″ l. x 34″ w. CONDITION: Professionally refinished, good rich reddish-brown color. Minor loss to one toe noted. Otherwise very good. No label. 9-28405 (6,000-10,000)
