CONFEDERATE GRISWOLD 2ND MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 36, SN2184. This gun appears original and authentic in every regard. Serial number 2184 is found on bbl, frame and cyl. Secondary number “24” is found on loading arm, wedge, trigger guard and backstrap. A Roman number “XVII” is found on trigger guard and backstrap. A cryptic reversed “R” is found on frame, trigger guard, backstrap and back of cyl. CONDITION: Iron surfaces have been cleaned and buffed. Serial numbers are still discernible however but sharp edges of bbl housing are now lost. Tip of loading arm has braised repair about 1/2″ from tip. Arbor only has six grease grooves and these grooves are found starting at recoil shield unlike the normal 13-14 grooves in center of arbor pin. Brass frame, trigger guard and backstrap show yellow patina through old cleaning. There is an “HA” carved in bottom of trigger guard, possibly denoting the person who carried this gun. 4-40692 JS49 (18,500-23,500)
