RARE “POPE JOAN” GAMEBOARD. Second quarter 19th century, American. Circular lobed pine board. Fashioned with nine circular carved wells, the center paint decorated with an arrangement of watercolor decorated playing cards depicting an old English game. Board painted in green and red. SIZE: 12-1/2″ dia. CONDITION: With minor age appropriate wear, structurally very good, and with original painted surfaces. The centermost pocket with some paint loss. 9-28471 (900-1,200)
