MASSACHUSETTS FEDERAL MAPLE SECRETARY. Circa 1820. The molded cornice with swan’s neck pediment terminating in floral carved rosettes, centering flame twist finials, above a pair of astragal-glazed doors over three aligned short drawers, fitted to the mid-molded lower case with folding lid opening to a baize-lined writing surface supported by lopers, centering three long drawers on a molded base with bracket feet and scalloped returns. SIZE: 80-1/2″ h. x 38″ w. x 18″ d. CONDITION: Desk has been cleaned and repolished. Now a pale honey-brown. Feet, crest, hardware original. Small losses to half-round moldings around drawers. Overall very good. Needs professional polishing. 9-93257 (2,000-3,000)
