RARE FRENCH TWO-FACED SWINGING CEILING CLOCK. Mid 19th Century. This fine two-sided example of Sunburst Design intended to be suspended on a brass ceiling mount. The clock mounted on a 9-rod compensating pendulum with alternating silver and brass elements: swings as one. The enamel dials each with Roman numeral chapter ring, one dial with sweep seconds hand. SIZE: L approximately 54″ CONDITION: Generally very good. Professionally refurbished. Enamel dials with small losses, the dial with time aperture having losses at 12 o’clock with tight hairlines between 11 and 1. The dial with seconds hand also with small losses to enamel dial at 6 and 12 with tight hairlines at 3, 6, 9, and 12. Otherwise overall very good. 9-24501 (6,000-9,000)
