CONFEDERATE KERR ARMY REVOLVER. SN 7164. Kerr Army revolver, SN 7164, with a very well struck “JS over anchor” marking. This marking is a Confederate acceptance or export mark seen on Confederate Enfields and Kerr revolvers. The Kerr Army revolver may have been the single most common model of any gun used in the South. Somewhere around 9000 of these revolvers are known tho have run the blockade. Gun is correctly marked on the lock “London Armoury Co.”. The frame is marked “Kerr’s Patent 7164”. This gun, overall, appears to have seen use, though most markings are fairly easy to read, as can be seen in photos and gun appears complete. The “JS Anchor” stamp is quite discernible, as can be seen in photos. Rarely will you see a better mark. CONDITION: Overall gun is smooth and brown. “Kerr’s” is weak in patent stamp. other markings are all easily read. Metal surfaces are brown. Mechanically, gun functions poorly, hammer holds, however cylinder only indexes about half the time. 4-40710 JS (3,000-4,000)
