FINE NEW ENGLAND GRAIN-PAINTED STORAGE BOX. Mid-19th century. Feather-grained and decorated overall in shades of brown and mustard, the center of lid with a name in script, possibly “E. J. Winthespar”. The rectangular dovetailed trunk fitted with original heart-shaped carrying handles and mounted with a bone escutcheon. SIZE: 12-3/4″ h. x 30″ l. x 16-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Retains original painted surfaces. Lid with areas of old paint loss lower left and lower right quadrants facing. Otherwise very good overall. 9-99634 (700-900)
