OUTSTANDING AESTHETIC MOVEMENT CARVED MAHOGANY AND LEATHER DRESSING SCREEN ATTRIBUTED TO HERTER BROTHERS. Last quarter 19th century, American. The exceptional three panel dressing screen decresting with carved panels of grapevines and pomegranates, each panel above a tooled leather panel of dense floral vinery and thistles. Within an incised carved frame, the end panels bordered by slender colonnettes with cone finials on intricately carved on winged griffin supports. The bottom of each panel with carved embellishments conforming with the cresting. SIZE: 76″ h x 63-1/2″ l x 18″ d overall.
