JOHN BACHMANN (American, Publisher, Mid 19th Century) “PANORAMA OF NEW YORK AND VICINITY”. Large folio, hand colored lithograph showing the island of Manhattan, the Hudson and East River and surrounding areas and the Brooklyn Bridge. The river is filled with boats of all sizes and descriptions. Print depicts a busy port city with its multitude of tall buildings and steeples. Foreground having a park setting with many people and activities including a baseball game at Elysian Fields. Bottom margin having title, publisher, a date of 1866 and “J. Bien”. Housed in a molded wood frame with white matte. SIZE: Sight: 24-3/4″ x 36-1/2″. Top and two side borders are 5/8″ wide; bottom border being 2-3/4″. CONDITION: Sealed back, not examined out of frame. Appears to have some professional cleaning and restoration to two small tears in border. 9-93848 (5,000-8,000)
