FRENCH BAC, “CHATEAU MAUVEZIN”. French, 19th century. The oval oak half barrel fitted with diagonal handles, paint-decorated with a crest, flanked by the name, “CHATEAU MAUVEZIN”. Note: One of the original handles remains, fashioned from a section of grapevine stock. SIZE: 16″ h x 38″ l (overall) x 20-1/2″ w. CONDITION: The staves with shrinkage and old insect damage, but still intact with very nice patina. One handle replaced as noted. Painted decoration remains good. 9-24081 (750-1,000)
