LARGE GAUGE ENGLISH OUTLINE LIVE STEAM ENGINE AND TENDER. A truly magnificent scratch built brass locomotive with a 4-6-2 wheel configuration. One can only guess the hours that went into creating this highly detailed and elaborate set. Everything from the engineer’s cab with an opening roof vent down to the intricate drive rods and the simulated springs and journal boxes on the tender. An inordinate amount of detailing and desire to recreate in miniature the real thing was done here. The engine is marked “4472” in applied brass numbers and the tender was marked “L.N.E.R” in similar brass letters (no longer present). Upon inspection one can see this engine and tender saw actual use because the boiler shows minor heat buildup and discoloration, but this does not detract from the beauty of this model. 1-7285 JL (1,500-2,500)
