IN THE MANNER OF JAMES SEYMOUR (British 1702-1752) THE PRINCE OF WALES AT NEWMARKET 1797. Outstanding large 19th Century oil on canvas panoramic scene shows the Prince of Wales in an elegant carriage pulled by six white horses in the center of a large field and slight hill. There are many horses and riders galloping and being led. Other spectators are seen in a carriage and on foot. The English hillside in the background under a blue and cloud sky. Unsigned and by an accomplished hand. Housed in a fine modern gilt molded wood frame with title plaque. SIZE: 23-1/2” x 49-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting.
