G.A.R. DECORATED CIVIL WAR CANTEEN. Oval shaped Civil War era metal canteen, about 7-1/2″ diameter with a pewter spout, painted medium blue with a circle of gold stars and the inscription “G.A.R. / POST / 57 / God Bless Our Fallen Hero’s”. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Retains 85-90% blue paint and about all of the gold paint. Pewter neck is a little crooked. Straphangers were removed before painting. 4-54435 JR316 (300-500)
