CONFEDERATE FOOT OFFICER’S SWORD. This sword appears original and in “as found” condition. Sword appears to have not been cleaned in a very long time and exhibits dark color and patina desired by many Civil War Confederate collectors. The maker is unknown but similar swords are known made by JC Wilson of Houston, Texas but other “Deep South” makers could have manufactured this also. SIZE: 28-1/2″ blade. CONDITION: 28-1/2″ slightly curved blade is rusted and pitted overall with rounded bent tip and several large nicks in cutting edge. Grip leather is dry and cracking and about 60% intact.
