“CHEROOT” FRENCH WINE BARREL. Early 20th century. France. This now rare example of wine storage barrel, paint-decorated with clusters of grapes, with placards as follows: first painted “1915”, above the second “CHATEAU TROTANOY”, above the third “MERLOT”, above fourth “POMEROL”, last “GIRONDE”. SIZE: 42-1/2″ h x 15″ dia. overall. CONDITION: Structurally very good with original surfaces with dark patina. Three stopper plugs absent. 9-24077 (1,000-1,200)
