FINE HAND PAINTED FRENCH GRAPE TILE PANEL. Circa 1900. The framed tile picture having 35 tiles painted with six different grape bunches with identifying grape title. Grape clusters having a light green background and identified as: Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Reverse having a signature of “Douriez Freres Macon Mai’56” (probably the date in which the panel was removed from wall and remounted on a wood panel. SIZE: Total: 58″ x 42-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Steve’s Pier One, Bayville, Long Island, 1970-98. CONDITION: Very good. 9-24069 (1,000-2,000)
