CLASSICAL MAHOGANY SEWING STAND. First quarter 19th century, probably New York. The rectangular hinged figural mahogany top with chamfered edges with circassian walnut crossbanding opening to an interior fitted with an arrangement of lidded compartments, the top interior with mirror plate. the apron fitted with a bag drawer with fabric lining flanked by lyre supports joined to a shaped plinth raised on claw feet. SIZE: 28-1/2″ h x 21″ w x 15″ d. PROVENANCE: Collection and shop contents of Linda and the late Vito Peri (owners of the Blue Dolphin Antique Shop, Northport, Maine).
