RARE ARCHITECTURAL WROUGHT IRON & BRASS DOORBELL. Late 19th – early 20th century. This fine example of wrought iron work forming a rectangular frame of S-scrolls centering reel mounted with 10 brass bells joined to wrought iron crank terminating in turned brass handle. Sometimes known as “tavern bells” this example originally designed to be mounted on the exterior of a building serving as a doorbell. It remains operational. SIZE: SIZE: 16″ l overall x 12-1/2″ d x 11″ w of wheel. CONDITION: Very good overall with minimal rust. 9-23710 (1,000-2,000)
