IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF AMERICAN BURLED AND FIGURED BOWLS WITH OTHER TREENWARE. Mid-19th century. The first and largest, a bird’s-eye burled example. The second, an elliptic example; the ends pierced for ring or rope handles. The next, a bird’s-eye burled vessel of deep cylindrical form with protruding handles. A deep unfinished hardwood trencher, together with two additional primitive bowls, a wooden goblet, and a burled measure. SIZE: The first: 18-1/2″ dia. Second: 16″ l. Burled bowl with handles: 6-1/2″ h. Trencher: 14-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: All gathered and collected in New York State. CONDITION: All in structurally very good condition. The first two examples finished and in need of polish. The other examples rougher and of a more unfinished nature. 9-93248 (2,000-4,000)
