“OUTSIDER ART” CARVED CARICATURE OF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN. First half 20th century. Carved from the solid depicting a figure standing on a piling, barefooted with brown trousers with a red sash, yellow collared short sleeved shirt with a red and white striped bow tie. Left arm upraised, right arm at side. The figure with red nail polish and lipstick. SIZE: 73″ h. CONDITION: Painted surfaces showing extensive weathering and wear. Original textured hair mostly absent. Losses to finger and with shrinkage cracks. 9-98663 (2,000-4,000)
