TWO FRAMED BROADSIDES. Third quarter 19th century, Massachusetts. Both framed, the first advertising “JONES & SLOCUM’s Alabama Minstrels”, dated November 8, 1872 proclaiming “They are not Knights of the Burnt Cork, but the original and only Negro Minstrels.” The second an advertisement for “Provision Store 67”, owned by “Fred. C. Gay, 67 Beach Street, Boston.” Declaring “I VERY RESPECTFULLY SOLICIT A TRIAL.” SIZE: Sight: 24″ x 9-1/4″, and 7-1/2″ x 4-1/4″. CONDITION: The first with repaired tear, left side facing. The second with light fold marks and discoloration. Both generally good. 9-27811 (800-1,200)
