UNSIGNED (American, late 19th Century) PORTRAIT OF THE SIDEWHEELER “ANNABELLE”. Oil on canvas shows the boat traveling right to left having 65 people on four different decks. Two American flags fly atop masts along with a ship’s pennant off bow. Two smokestacks billow smoke, emblazoned on the side is the name “Annabelle” between scroll work decorations. The front section laden with bales of goods all under a sunny sky. Housed in a vinegar grain painted pine frame. SIZE: 10″ x 20″. Overall: 14-1/2″ x 24″. CONDITION: Minor patch repair to upper left sky, very minor craquelure, otherwise very good. 9-28527 (3,000-4,000)
