JOHN WALTER SCOTT (American, 1907-1987) TWO ALLIGATOR ILLUSTRATIVE WORKS. 1) Gouache scene shows an alligator attacking a wild boar which has disrupted the nest of small alligators. The alligator crunches down on the front leg of the squealing boar while the little alligators flee the nest. Signed lower right. 2) Gouache scene shows a hunter shooting an alligator which is attacking his hunting dog which is shown swimming away. Signed lower right. Both identically housed and matted in decorative green marbleized frames. SIZE: Sight: 17-1/2″ x 13″. PROVENANCE: From a private New York Collection.
