BUILDER’S MODEL OF THE SCHOONER A.L. MITCHELL. Circa 1879, Millbridge/Machias, Maine. This original model made by E. Dyer with six lifts, the hull in black paint with chrome yellow details rendered with bowsprit and rudders, copper paint below the water line. An inscription identifying the name of the ship is written in pencil on the deck. Mounted on a walnut board. Housed within a gilt frame. This lot is accompanied by a typed sheet comprising abstracts of a list of registers and enrollments of ships and their owners, Machias, Maine. SIZE: 10″ h overall x 43-1/2″ l overall x 5″ w of model. PROVENANCE: From a private Augusta, Maine collection. CONDITION: Very good original condition.
