WHITNEY NAVY 2ND MODEL 2ND TYPE PERCUSSION REVOLVER CIRCA 1861-62. Cal. 36 Perc. SN 5481. Blued finish, 7-11/16” oct bbl with “E. WHITNEY / N.HAVEN” marked on top. Brass post front sight, casehardened loading lever, 2-pc smooth walnut grips, brass triggerguard. Cylinder scene is quite visible. Purchased by both branches of the military from both the Whitney Factory and the open market Whitney dealers. This model was a heavily used revolver during the Civil War. CONDITION: Good. Thin traces of blue on bbl & frame. Faded casehardening on loading lever & hammer. Grips retain about 80% of the varnish with light dents & bruises. Bore is evenly pitted.
