PAIR OF SCRIMSHAW WALRUS TUSKS. 20th century. The first scrimmed depicting the battle between “Bonhomme Richard & Serapis” dated 1779. The second scrimmed depicting a whale hunt in the Arctic identified as the “WHALER PRINCE” and date 1841. SIZE: 19-1/4″ l and 20″ l respectively. CONDITION: With normal and expected shrinkage cracks throughout, good colored patina, well polished surfaces. Very good overall. 9-28420 (1,500-2,000)
