FINE PENNSYLVANIA CHIPPENDALE CARVED WALNUT SLANT SECRETARY BOOKCASE. Circa 1780. The rectangular Greek key-molded cornice joined to the upper case fitted with a pair of paneled cupboard doors opening to an interior of two shelves fitted to the lower case with hinged sloping lid opening to an interior of pigeonholes and small drawers, over four long graduated drawers, the topmost flanked by lopers on a molded base raised on shaped bracket feet. SIZE: 75″ h. x 36″ case w. x 18″ d. CONDITION: Piece with old original surfaces, backboards, and feet. The brass hardware may be original but re-set. Bookcase top with old patch repairs right side facing. Very good overall condition. 9-94652 (4,000-6,000)
