UNSIGNED (Mid 19th Century) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG CHILD WITH HER DOG. Interesting light oil/gouache portrait of a young child seated in a grain painted antique rocking chair. She wears a christening dress and holds her small black and a white dog in her lap. Beside the chair is a basket of flowers on a decorated floor covering, blue background. An illegible embossed paper stamp in the upper left corner. Housed in an antique gilt wood frame with glass front. SIZE: 17-3/4″ x 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Generally very good. There is a 1″ split on the bottom left. 9-98622 (1,500-2,500)
