FINE MOUNTED POLAR BEAR RUG, ACCOMPANIED BY DOCUMENTATION. Circa 1971. The full pelt mounted on black felt backing, stitched to a rubberized mat, the life-like rendering with brown glass eyes, the fore and rear claws present, affixed with the label D.K. Corbett/Taxidermy/Bass River/N.S. Skin tanned but not dyed. SIZE: 84″ x 75″. PROVENANCE: Accompanied by original documentation from the taxidermist and fur export permit Northwest Territories, Winnepeg, Canada; customs certificate from the Treasury Department, Bureau of Customs, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a certificate of importation from the U.S. Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington, DC, authorizing the importation of these polar bear skins from Canada to the owner in Easton, Pennsylvania.
