SALESMAN SAMPLE GURNEY FURNACE. Wonderful miniature salesman’s sample in original velvet lined leather carrying case. Furnace consists of dozens of individual parts, many of them movable, and assembled with the precision of a fine watch. On this particular example the Gurney brand name has been removed with an abrasive wheel from the front of the boiler. Gurney stoves like this one were popular in 19th century cathedrals all over the world. Manufactured by the Gurney Stove & Furnace Co. Ltd. SIZE: Stove – 7″ tall x approx. 5″ in diameter. CONDITION: Seams of the leather carrying case have come apart and need reinforcement but the salesman’s sample itself appears in very good condition. 1-8093 (1,000-2,000)
