TWO MINIATURE DECOYS. First third 20th century, Maine and Massachusetts. The first carved by A.E. Crowell of East Harwich, Massachusetts depicting a running Merganser Drake on half round stand. The second carved and painted by Gerald Robertson of Blue Hill, Maine titled “Red Head Duck” on a half round stand. SIZE: 2-1/2″ h x 5-1/2″ l and 3″ h x 3-1/2″ l respectively. CONDITION: The Merganser with bubbled and alligatored paint surfaces resulting from excessive heat, otherwise structurally good, with the stamp of A.E. Crowell on the bottom of base. The second a Robertson example with darkened paint surfaces slightly soiled with minimal and minor losses to tips of primaries, otherwise good, signed in pencil beneath base. 9-90511 (800-1,200)
