EARLY AMERICAN PINE CANDLE SCONCE. Late 18th century, New England. This rare primitive example with flaring back panel, joined to a tombstone shaped support. Mounted with 3 square cut nails, which act as a candle cup. The back carved with the initials “C.W., K.W., 1876,” which appear to be later embellishments. SIZE: 11-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Good overall untouched condition, with dark nutty unpainted patina. 9-27818 (600-900)
