HARRY WALKER (American, Mid 20th Century) THE STAGE SHOW. Oil on canvas theater scene shows four actresses on stage with a backdrop of a Mississippi river boat. A spotlight shines from above and is surrounded by the elegant theater balconies, curtains and audience. Signed lower left “Harry Walker 1961″. Housed in a carved wood frame with linen and gilt liner. Walker painted scenes of the late 20’s to the early 40’s and this from a series of theaters in the 30’s. A small artist brochure accompanies the work. SIZE: 24″ x 20”. PROVENANCE: Collection of Elwyn Dearborn, Medford, NJ & Portland, ME. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96260 (500-1,000)
