SALESMAN SAMPLE URN-BACK CHAIR. Second quarter 19th century, New England. This grained and paint-decorated example with arched crest rail joined to an urn-shaped splat, continuing to a shaped plank seat raised on turned and simulated bamboo legs, joined by a box stretcher. The whole with simulated rosewood graining within green line borders. The crest and splat with painted flowerheads. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h of back. 6″ h of seat. CONDITION: Generally very good with original surfaces. 7-70127 (300-500)
