BERTEL VALLIEN PAPERWEIGHT SCULPTURE. Very interesting paperweight sculpture has deeply impressed face of a man at the bottom back edge of the piece. A copper metal cutout of a man floats in the center of the sculpture against a background of inlaid metal screen. Interior is further decorated with a red and white striped line extending from the peak of the sculpture to just above the impressed man’s head. Exterior sides are finished in a heavy stone-like crust and are decorated with metal inlays as well as a raised face mask lying diagonally. Signed on the bottom left hand corner “B Vallien P.9.86”. SIZE: 10-1/4″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Ivan Cohen. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-62847 (600-900)
