AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE TRANSITIONAL INLAID MAHOGANY MIRROR. Circa 1800. The rectangular mirrorplate within a gilt molded slip, with a string inlaid and crossbanded frame. The deeply scalloped and scrolling arched crest centering a shell-inlaid patera. The conforming pendant apron with scrolled ears. SIZE: 42″ x 21″. CONDITION: Cleaned old surfaces. Rich mahogany red color. Inlays intact. Original plate and backboards. Three ears are old replacements, some tips also old replacements. Professionally done old restoration to apron.
