EXTREMELY RARE WINCHESTER COWBOY ON WHITE HORSE WITH GRIZZLY POINT OF PURCHASE DIE CUT. SN N/A. This large, colorful cardboard display is 80-3/4″ long x 36-1/8″ high. Center section is cowboy on a white horse drawing a Model 54 from scabbard with a grizzly bear approaching from behind. Background of mountains with snow-capped peaks. Top is marked “WINCHESTER / WORLD’S STANDARD GUNS AND AMMUNITION”. Lower right corner “SUPERSPEED / HOLLOW POINT MUSHROOM / CARTRIDGES”. Immediately to the left is a silver tipped bullet marked “.270W.C.F.” Immediately on right side is a round-nosed soft point bullet marked below “.30 G’06”. Extended left side is a water fowl scene with ducks and geese. Far left corner is Repeater paper shotgun shell box and single stand-up shotgun shell. Center bottom marked “REPEATER NUBLACK”. Extended right side is upland game bird scene with ruff grouse, pheasant and quail. Corner with the first Ranger shell box with shotgun shell. Center marked “LEADER RANGER”. Tom Webster’s book Winchester Rarities pictures the this die-cut on page 89 and states that their example was the only one ever found to their knowledge. CONDITION: Extremely Fine. Colors still remain bright. Upper right side of center section has an 1-3/4″ square loss of color, most likely due to tape, and some very minor chipping to some of the edges. 4-40055 BDT257 (4,500-6,500)
