METROPOLITAN ARMS CO. NAVY MODEL 2ND VARIATION PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36 Perc. SN 3281. Blued finish, 7-1/2” oct bbl marked, “METROPOLITAN ARMS Co. NEW-YORK” on top of bbl, “NEW ORLEANS APRIL.1862” above the Naval battle scene on the cylinder. Brass post front sight, casehardened loading lever, silver plated brass triggerguard & backstrap, 1-pc smooth walnut grip. Approx. 4,100 of these revolvers were manufactured copying the Colt ’51 Navy Model. Company went into business Feb. 1863, three weeks after Colt Factory burned to the ground. CONDITION: Good. Frame, bbl, & cyl have been lightly cleaned & enhanced. Much of the silver remains on the backstrap & triggerguard. Grips have been cleaned & revarnished. Bore is good.
