TIFFANY STUDIOS PEONY TABLE LAMP. The lamp beings with a peony shade that is widely known as “The Spring Peony”. The peonies are constructed in reds, pinks, and mauve with hints of amethyst and white to illustrate the different stages of life. Along the apron in the same colors, several buds are shown. The foliage which is comprised of many shades of green is also streaked with earthen hues. There are three geometric rows along the apron of the shade where blossoms and foliage entwine to finish the shade. Supporting the shade is a bronze decorated library vase with vertical pig tails extending down the shaft to an ornate footed platform base. The base had three sockets, and top cap. The entire lamp has a desirable green/brown patina finish. The shade is signed “Tiffany Studios New York 1475-10”. It is commonly believed that a dash number was considered to be a masterfully created example. The base is signed “Tiffany Studios New York 358” and “S172”. SIZE: Shade is 18″ dia. Overall 25″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with a few minor hairlines. 5-68854 (115,000-125,000)
