NICE NEW ENGLAND SPONGE-DECORATED BOX. Mid 19th century. With unusual sponge-decorated cream surface, the lid stencil painted with the initials “M.A.H”. Rectangular lid hinged on a conforming case decorated as noted with iron carrying bales, lock and hasp. SIZE: 10-3/4″ h x 29″ l x 14-1/4″ d. CONDITION: With original painted surfaces, structurally very good, hardware original. 9-27943 (700-900)
