REMINGTON NEW MODEL ARMY CONVERSION REVOLVER. SN 281. Cal. 46 RF. Blue finish with 8″ oct bbl, pinched post front sight with 3-line address and is mounted with 2-pc varnished, very nicely figured, walnut grips pencil numbered to this revolver. Left side of grip frame under grip and bottom of bbl have SN and the assembly number “444”. There are no visible numbers on cyl but there is no doubt that this is a factory conversion with attached factory style rammer and spacer plate screwed to recoil shield. Right upper flat of frame is stamped “CA304” and it can be assumed that it may have been assigned to the California Militia. CONDITION: Very good to fine, all matching , cyl is unnumbered which is normal for conversions. Overall retains 25-30% orig blue, stronger on bbl and web of loading lever, with balance a blue/gray patina. Bbl shows some light cleaning. Grips are sound with a series of dings on right side and usual handling & use marks elsewhere and retain most of their strong orig varnish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with scattered pitting. 4-40650 JR182 (3,000-5,000)
