REMINGTON NEW MODEL ARMY CONVERSION REVOLVER. SN 142009. Cal. 46 RF. Blue finish with 8″ oct bbl, pinched post front sight with 3-line address and is mounted with 2-pc walnut grips pencil numbered to this revolver and with the outline of a cartouche on left side. Left side of grip frame under grip and bottom of bbl have SN and the assembly number “245”. There are no visible numbers on cyl but there is no doubt that this is a factory conversion with attached factory style rammer and spacer plate screwed to recoil shield. Right upper flat of frame is stamped “CA315”. No indication of the significance of this marking but it can be assumed that it may have been part of the California Militia. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains traces of orig blue having been cleaned to a gray patina. Frame, rammer & cyl retain most of their orig blue mixed with blue/brown patina. Cyl has strong blue. Front & back straps are a plummy blue/brown patina. Grips have a chipped left toe with several nicks, scratches & dings and a gouge on right side, showing heavy wear with a hand worn patina. Hammer is not solid in half cock notch, otherwise mechanics are fine, very bright shiny bore. 4-40794 JR194 (4,000-6,000)
