FRENCH EMPIRE EBONIZED CALENDAR CLOCK. 1st quarter 19th century. The rectangular ebonized case inset with brass inlay. The circular porcelain dial with Roman numeral chapter ring and time-and-strike apertures mounted within a beveled glass and cast brass bezel above three aligned calendar dials, each for the month, day of the month and day of the week. This movement set within a scrolling floral frame, the brass movement stamped “LEGRAND A ST. NICOLAS”, a second stamp marked “DIEPPE”. SIZE: 15-1/2″ h. x 10-1/4″ w. x 6″ d. CONDITION: Dial with overpainted areas at the numerals 3, 6 and 11. Brass movements appear clean, was in working order when acquired. Clock is sold with pendulum. 9-99091 (900-1,200)
