MASSACHUSETTS SHERATON INLAID MAHOGANY CARD TABLE. 2nd quarter, 19th century, possibly Salem. In the style of Nehemia Adams. The rectangular hinged top with half serpentine ends, ovolo corners and serpentine front above a conforming frieze and inlaid with figured birch or maple panels with string-inlaid edges and cross banded borders. Raised on ring-turned, reeded, tapering cylindrical legs with ringed cuffs and swelled feet. The underside of the table signed in chalk, “J HALE”. SIZE: 29-1/4″h x 36-1/4″w x 17-1/2″d. CONDITION: With old, polished surfaces. Structurally very good. Some minor cosmetic veneer repairs. Slight warp to top. 9-25027 (1,250-1,750)
