*RARE ENGRAVED DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 03 SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 22 Auto. SN 85938. Beautiful little rifle with 20” rnd bbl, Lyman front sight, missing its bead, and standard open rear sight. It has 2 to 3X American walnut wood with “H” style checkering and capped pistol grip stock with crescent buttplate. The receiver is beautifully engraved with large vignettes of two squirrels on a limb on the left side and three rabbits in a woodland scene on the right side, surrounded by basic arabesque scrolls with a wavelet border. Top of the receiver is engraved with fine arabesque and geometric patterns. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Metal retains 95-97% strong bright original blue with light edge wear and flaking on the forend cap. Wood is sound with a series of light scrapes on the buttstock and usual handling and use marks and retains 95-96% original varnish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-52641 JR348 (3,000-5,000)
