BENJAMIN ALBERT STAHL (American, 1910-1987) “BELL P-39 AIRACOBRA IN WARTIME SETTING”. Watercolor illustrative scene shows a fighter plane manned by two men. One is seen in foreground filling magazine with bullets which another gasses the plane. It is shown in a tropical setting. Signed lower right “Stahl”. Housed in a modern decorative frame with wide matte having a cutout for title, artist and description. Description indicates that the painting hung in the Administration Building of Bell Aircraft Company at Niagara Falls Municipal Airport until 1944, when the facility was taken over by American Airlines.
