TIPPING & LAWDEN SHARPS MODEL 2E 4-SHOT DERRINGER. SN 5189. Cal. 30 RF Short. Blue & silver finish with 2-15/16″ 4-shot bbl cluster, brass pin front sight, British proofs in gullets on each side with silver plated brass frame marked with the Tipping & Lawden information on left side. Mounted with 2-pc, floral pattern gutta percha grips. Frame is brass with straight standing breech and straight grip to frame juncture and long checkered hammer spur with rotating firing pin in hammer nose. These little pistols were extremely popular with gamblers & ladies with their small readily concealable size and multiple shots. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-98% glossy orig blue with only slight muzzle edge wear and a few tiny scattered spots of rust. Frame has one small dent on left side, otherwise retains virtually all of its orig factory silver plating. Grips show light wear with one small chip on right edge. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores with a few scattered spots of light pitting in top two bores. 4-39894 JR159 (4,000-6,000)
