FEDERAL CARVED AND GILT WALL MIRROR. First quarter 19th century, possibly New York. The rectangular mirror plate within a molded surround flanked by conjoined triple colonettes with acanthus carved capitols. Beneath the frieze cast with scrolling vinery centering a lion mask beneath the cove-molded step cornice, mounted with 18 gilt spherules. SIZE: 39-3/4″ h x 25″ w overall. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine and New York private collection. CONDITION: Structurally good with soiling. Mirror plate old if not original. 9-29909 (700-900)
